Hydrographic Surveys
Hydrography is the science which deals with the measurement and description of the physical features of bodies of water and their littoral land areas.
At Maltby Surveys we support a variety of activities including river profiling, flood risk assessment, port and harbour maintenance (dredging), coastal engineering (beach erosion and replenishment studies), as well as coastal zone management. Water depth is obtained by physically dipping, echo sounding (single or dual frequency) or even side scan sonar can be deployed to facilitate the detection of submerged dangers to navigation. With our in-house software developers, presentation of such measured data can be specific to client requirements.
Flood Modeller / HecRAS / Mike11 / TuFlow and EEBY are all examples of existing outputs currently available. We have further integrated the requirements of the EACSDF Version 3.31 which has been developed as a standard format to allow for smoother integration between surveyor and modeller. Much of the structure and conveyance information is input by the surveyor and automatically populates the Flood Modeller dataset.
